What We NOW Know:
Update Tuesday 7/16 noon: Tickets in the Alumni Block Have All Been Sold. However, other third-party sources are available for game tickets, such as StubHub, Ticketmaster, etc. Note: If you have season tickets or plan to obtain your game ticket elsewhere, Alumni Band Weekend Registration will remain open (without tickets) until a month before the game. (See Key Dates Below).
What We Know:
Alumni Weekend Announcement – Your normal July email (expected to be sent around July 10th) will recap the planning detail for the events surrounding all 50th Anniversary season events. A Redcoat Alumni Weekend registration announcement email will be sent before the end of July with registration details and links.
UGA Redcoat Alumni Band Day will be on FRIDAY NIGHT, NOVEMBER 29 when Georgia hosts Georgia Tech Between the Hedges on Dooley Field in Sanford Stadium. We will perform Halftime, NOT pregame, pending any last minute changes which might affect this status. We’ll keep you informed immediately of any changes to any of these plans. Rehearsal will be at Redcoat Field (Intramural Field #9 on Lake Herrick Drive), and then we move to Sanford Stadium for the game. Parking will be available at the Intramural Deck. Kickoff time and complete schedule TBA.
In-Person or Virtual Participation:
If you’re unable to be with us in Athens this year, you can still “Perform with us VIRTUALLY.” With the payment of your $40 registration fee, you become a Supporting Member of the RBAA, you’ll be counted as an Alumni Band Day 2024 participant, and you’ll receive your commemorative souvenir field pass via postal mail after Alumni Band Day. Note that purchasing tickets in the RBAA band block is NOT available for virtual performers; as limited ticket availability is for IN PERSON performers and their families.
Your In-Person or Virtual Registration Link will be found only in an announcement email in late July. (Not this web site, July Newsletter nor Social Media.)
To participate on the field, you must REGISTER, wear your 2024 RBAA FIELD PASS to enter the field, and wear ONLY the APPROVED UNIFORM.
Game Tickets:
YOU MUST HAVE A GAME TICKET TO ENTER THE STADIUM. The RBAA ticket allocation in the Alumni Block is sold out,and the ticket link will no longer be operational. However, other third-party sources are available for game tickets, such as StubHub, Ticketmaster, etc.
Everyone (including babies) will need to have a game ticket to enter the stadium. Reserving game tickets in the alumni band block was open as a part of EARLY Alumni Band Weekend Registration.
If you have season tickets or plan to obtain your game ticket elsewhere, Alumni Band Weekend Registration will remain open until a month before the game. (See Key Dates Below).

October 12th – Last day for online registration without Gameday tickets in the Alumni Block

Schedule Of Events (Tentative) Friday, Nov 29th:
12 Noon – Check-in Opens
1:15 pm – Alumni Band Rehearsal Begins
2:45-3:00 pm – Alumni Rehearsal Ends
7:30 pm – Advertised Game Kickoff
TBD – Game Clock Time to Move Onto Field

Alumni Rehearsal Location and Gameday Parking:
Alumni rehearsal location – Redcoat Field (Field #9 within the Intramural Fields complex) – View Campus Map with Redcoat Field identified near Intramurial Parking Deck.
Free gameday parking is available in the Intramural Field parking deck closest to Redcoat Field – first come, first served. See map below. Free shuttle from Redcoat Field (Intramural Field #9) to Stadium at the conclusion of rehearsal.
Update – Parking is now restricted from the side road leading to the field (where you make the left turn at the tennis courts & dumpster), as well as the staff and truck lot adjacent to the tower. Ingress/Egress of trucks/equipment is difficult with vehicles parked in those areas.
Redcoat Alumni Musicians
To participate on the field at Alumni Band Weekend, musicians must wear the official Alumni Band uniform. The uniform consists of the Official RBAA RED shirt (Drum Dog or 50th Anniversary logo), black pants, black sox, black shoes (no white soles, no manufacturer’s logos in colors per NCAA rules), and if you elect to wear a hat (not required) it must be the Official RBAA RED ball cap (no other headgear). The Alumni Band will be preforming at HALFTIME for the November 29, 2024 UGA vs GA Tech game. The Battle Hymn will NOT be part of the halftime show, therefore there will not be a need for the Battle Hymn Trumpet audition on that Friday.
